Meaning: to save the nation from calamity and destruction
Original: 毛泽东同志出生的那个年代，由于西方列强入侵和封建统治腐败，具有5000多年文明历史的中国已逐步成为半殖民地半封建社会，国家蒙辱、人民蒙难、文明蒙尘，中华民族遭受了前所未有的劫难，救亡图存、振兴中华成为全体中国人民的共同梦想。
Background: On December 26, 2023, in commemoration of the 130th anniversary of the birth of Mao Zedong, Xi Jinping gave a speech celebrating Chairman Mao and his work towards founding and building the Chinese Communist Party.
